What is a MUN?
GMUN 8th EDITION
A Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation of the United Nations where students assume the roles of delegates representing different countries. Participants research global issues, formulate their country's policies, engage in formal debates, negotiate with other delegates, and draft resolutions to address international challenges. MUN conferences are designed to replicate the procedures and diplomatic practices of the United Nations, providing students with a practical understanding of international relations and global governance.
How Does MUN Benefit Students
Participation in Model United Nations offers students numerous academic and personal development opportunities. It enhances public speaking and communication skills by encouraging participants to present arguments confidently and articulate their ideas effectively. MUN also develops critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, as students must analyze complex global issues, evaluate different perspectives, and propose practical solutions.
